3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Outfit. The outfit shall consist of a mop bucket with an integral pull-through type roller wringer assembly.
3.1.1 Bucket. The bucket shall be round or oval, straight sided or tapered. The bucket shall have a minimum capacity of 16 quarts (15.14 L). This capacity is to be measured void of any components, such as the wringer assembly. The bucket shall have a galvanized bail with a finished diameter no less than 0.24 inch (6.10mm). The bucket shall have a foot tab on the bottom edge placed on to prevent tipping of the bucket when the wringer is used. The sides and the bottom of the bucket, and the foot tab, shall be composed of galvanized steel a minimum of 0.023 inch (0.58 mm) thick.
3.1.1.1 Coating. The bucket shall be zinc coated as specified by designation G-90 of ASTM A525 as a minimum. The finished product shall have all seams sealed and shall not show evidence of pitting, flash, thin spots, uneven coating, missing coating, slivers, points, or rust.
3.1.1.2 Leakage. The bucket shall not leak when tested as specified in 4.4.2. There shall be no leakage around the seams, or around the seams, or around any fasteners extending through bucket.
