3.3 Handle. The brush shall be supplied with a handle meeting the requirements
of table I. The handle shall be wood, closed grained and straight.
3.4 Construction. The filaments shall be evenly distributed over the working
surface of the block. The filaments shall fill the tuft holes and be firmly set
so that they cannot be pulled free by hand.
3.5 Workmanship . The brushes shall be clean, free from splinters, check, sharp
edges, roughness, or any defects that may affect appearance, serviceability or
durability.
3.6 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be
considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units,
providing they fall within tolerances specified and all other requirements of
this document are met.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Regulatory requ irements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use
recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with
paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) .
