COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TOWEL, PAPER (PLASTIC WIPING)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification UU-T-598.
This commercial item description covers paper wiping towels intended for use in cleaning, wiping, and polishing of soft delicate surfaces such as plastic finishes or acrylic plastic sheets.
Salient characteristics.
Paper wiping towels shall be soft, highly absorbent, non-abrasive tissue. The towels shall have an area of not less than 247.5 square inches (1,596 cm2) with the smaller dimensions not less than 14-3/4 inches (375 mm). The towels shall be folded and shall be constructed of at least two plies with all plies securely joined by mechanical means normally used in the manufacture of these towels. Towels shall conform to the following physical requirements. The issue of each TAPPI test method in effect on the date of solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with requirements.
