COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLOTH, CLEANING (NONWOVEN)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial
Item Description by all Federal Agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers nonwoven wiping cloths.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The cloth shall be the following types and classes:
Type I – Untreated
Class 1 – Light Duty
Class 2 – Heavy Duty
Type II – Treated
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Type I. The type I cloths shall consist of nonwoven cellulosic material adhered into a planer assembly meeting the characteristics of table I. the finished cloths shall be suitable for use as a cloth for wiping up grease and liquid spills.
3.2 Type II. The type II cloths shall consist of nonwoven cellulosic material adhered into a planer assembly meeting the characteristics of table II. The finished cloth shall be treated for soil pick up with a non-toxic treatment that will not evaporate or otherwise deteriorate, or cause damage to the shipping materials. The finished cloth shall be suitable for use as a dust cloth by itself and in conjunction with a floor mop meeting requirements of NSN 7920-00-782-3784
