COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SWAB, TOILET, ALL SYNTHETIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use
of this commercial item description by all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers a synthetic toilet swab with integral wringing cup.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 General description. The toilet swab shall consist of a handle, swab head, and wringing cup, configured similar to figure I. The handle may be straight as depicted in Figure I, or be bent near the swab head. The handle shall be 10 inches (25.4 cm) long minimum and 0.625 inch (1.6 cm) minimum in diameter. The head yarns shall be secured to the handle so that they are not removable by hand. The yarns shall extend from the handle a minimum of 4 inches (10.2 cm), and weigh a minimum of 0.4 ounces (12 g). The wringing cup shall move up and down the handle and be large enough and flexible enough that a user can squeeze liquid out of the head using the wringing cup without soiling the user’s hands. The cup shall seal to the handle sufficiently that liquid being squeezed from the head does not leak around the handle to wet the user’s hand. The color of the handle, head and squeeze cup shall be white.
2.2 Materials. The handle shall be molded plastic. The swab head shall be composed of polyester yarns. The cup shall be flexible plastic.
