COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
MOPPING OUTFIT, FLOOR
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Federal Specification RR-M-1075.
This commercial item description covers a twin steel mopping outfit, consisting of two 35 quart, zinc coated, oval shaped mopping buckets, without spinder chassis or casters. One large size and rack wringer, and one hand with four 4-inch casters.
Salient characteristics:
Bucket.
Shape: Oval
Capacity: Large
These buckets shall meet the requirements of Commercial Item Description A-A-262.
These buckets shall have silencers.
Wringer.
A steel and malleable iron gear-and-rack mop wringer.
This wringer shall meet the requirement of Commercial Item Description A-A-261.
Hand truck.
The hand truck shall be plated or enameled to protect the truck from corrosion under normal service conditions.
The truck shall have a handle and bumpers.
Workmanship. The mopping outfit shall be free from any defects that may affect its serviceability, durability, or appearance.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements. The manufacturer shall utilized recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. The items shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Shipping containers shall be marked as specified in the contract or order.
